VLC 2.1.1 Released

A new version of VLC Media Player, VLC 2.1.1 has been released. This new version brings several bug fixes over the last version which was VLC 2.1.0. This latest version has been improved to reduce several regressions which was introduced since the start of VLC 2.1.0 RinceWind. This versions is titled VLC 2.1.1 “Twoflower”.

This new version also adds experimental decoding of new formats. The new formats are HEVC and Webm/VP9 formats. Other notable improvement in this version is the improvement of the Windows installer itself.

If you have a previous installation of VLC Media Player, you probably got the notification to upgrade when you opened your player. If not, you can check for updates using the menu bar Help > Check for Updates.
